Abrasive Waterjet

Abrasive WaterJet

Abrasive WaterJet Cutting uses a ultra high pressure jet of water which is mixed with sand (abrasive) to create a cutting tool. The water acts as a carrier for the abrasive, it is the abrasive in this instance that forms the cutting tool.

Creative WaterJet use a KMT Intensifier to generate the WaterJet at a pressure up to 3600 bar and 0.25mm - 0.30mm in diameter. Abrasive is then added to this stream to create an Abrasive WaterJet 0.8mm - 1.2mm diameter. This fluid cutting tool is capable of profiling any material which is softer than the abrasive itself.

Garnet abrasive has a Mohs scale rating of 8; to put this in to context the rating for talc is 1 and top of the scale is a diamond at 10. With a cut width of 1mm and capability to cut through 200mm thick Titanium our sub-contract service can offer every customer a competitive edge.

Whether looking to reduce machining time and only require a rough cut, or producing balustrades which simple want polishing to a finish Creative WaterJet offer a service second to none.

In addition to sub-contract WaterJet cutting Creative WaterJet can also offer components finished to the requirement shown on the drawing. Drilling, Tapping, Polishing, Plating, Polishing, Shot Blasting and machining are all additional services which we can offer upon request.
